On Sunday August 15th Richardson’s Harley-Davidson in conjunction with Youngtown Health and Fitness held Fights & Bikes II.

This was the second Boxing Tournament in Tasmania involving Tasmanian Boxing League in Launceston The event was a success even with the wet weatherwith hundreds of locals showing up to support the Tasmania Boxing League. Jim Beam also got on board with a bunch of giveaways for those who showed up to support the event.

With 10 bouts of local and interstate boxers the day was full of energy.

Tasmania and New South Wales boxers shaped up against each other in the ring at a boxing tournament in Launceston yesterday.

A fight card of about a dozen bouts was organised by Youngtown Health and Fitness Club trainer Graeme George and held at Richardson's Harley-Davidson at Prospect.

Boxers from around the state and NSW took part.

"It was a bit of a wet day but we ended up with a good crowd with alot people here watching the bouts, which was good, and it was a successful day," George said.

"The Youngtown Boxing Club have five boxers fighting and they all won their bouts on the day."

The main clash saw Hobart's Josh Hyland beat NSW champion Chad Ritchidson by a close points decision in an 81-kilogram bout.

"Of the Youngtown boys, Josh Streets completely outclassed his Hobart opponent, stopping him in the first round of a 67-kilogram bout, and he fought a great fight," George said.

"Bo Streets stopped his opponent in the second round of a 54-kilogram bantamweight fight and Bailey Seabourne won his 38-kilogram bout against a Southern opponent, with pure boxing skills being a lot better technically.

"Jack Seabourne had a close fight with Angus Dickens but got up with a comfortable points decision."

Tasmania's Daniel Geale was a special guest, and signed autographs for the crowd.

The event was very well organized and special mentions to Simon, Merilyn & Lindelle from Richardson Harley Davidson for organizing promotions, card girls, information for the fight. Also to the team at Youngtown Health and Fitness for work behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed and to the Tassie Devils restaurant for their support on the day. Due to the overwhelming success of the day the event will be held again sometime in the future, keep an eye on our website events page for details.
