Well, i just bought my first Harley from Richardsons and the staff could not have been any friendlier, the advice I received from all involved was great. I was shown the workshop facility and was most impressed, I could have eaten my lunch off the floor. You guys delivered my bike without any fuss or bother. I am really impressed with the service I received. The funny part is I only came in to buy a hot chocolate for me and the kids and walked out buying a 07 Heritage.

After experiencing some brake problems on the way I thought I might ask the guys in the workshop for advise(Matt).Well the next thing I know the bikes in the workshop getting checked out while I tuck into bacon & eggs with the lot & coffee. The staff made us feel so at home & welcome we thought about staying the night...The food, coffee, service & hospitality was second to none, the museum upstairs kept the boys occupied as did the racks of clothing and accessories(we spent up big).So it is with this letter that I take the opportunity to thank Merilyn and staff and a special thanks to Matt & the workshop staff for slipping my bike into an already busy schedule & sorting out my brake problem which allowed me to spend the next 4 day s enjoying that fantastic Island of yours. P.S.-my mate’s thankyou too, they couldn’t put up with a SCREAMING front disk any longer! Great service, Great people...Regards Toddy (93' heritage, Moo Glide), Vic.

Especially Chris who took me on a tour the workshop and spares. I am from Newcastle NSW and after that walkthru i know i can get just about any part for my harley, no risk. If not im sure the boys at Richardsons would find it. Love the place. Will be buying all my harley stuff thru these guys. Dave, Newcatle, NSW.

Dear Chris,

I would like to personally thank you and your wonderful crew for the opportunity to attend the Rolling Roadshow at Huonville.

I certainly came away with a different view of Harley-Davidson’s, as in the past I had only ridden an early 90’s 1340cc and they have changed dramatically.

Certainly now a pleasure to ride with lovely smooth powerful motors and they handle very nicely – I’m a convert and will definitely own a HD in the future, possibly a Heritage Softail, Deluxe or Fatboy but not sure when. Certainly has to be a 96B either new or S/Hand.

Considering attending The Metal Mayhem Demo on 18th/19th Dec if I can get there. Will any of these models be available to test ride?

Kind Regards,

Graeme Donaldson

Dear RHD,

Six of us Sandgropers from Perth paid a visit to Richardson's H-D recently during a 12 day road bike tour of Tassie. None of us owned Harleys or were even looking to buy a Harley but it was the friendliest and best set up bike shop we've ever been in. We were made to feel so welcome by the friendly staff. The museum is quite something! A few of us took up the offer to test ride some of the demo Harleys which was definately one of the highlights of the whole trip. Thanks folks; it's not surprising you are the No.1 Harley shop in Oz.

Good Afternoon,

I ride with a world wide organisation called Association of Recovering Motorcyclists “ARM” based in the US of A, and have visited Cutters Harley Davidson in Wisconsin on more than one occasion.

The staff at Cutters has always treated me wonderfully, and I did not believe this type of service to be possible anywhere else in the world due to my local Harley store being so very unhelpful. How wrong was I?

I recently visited Burnie and happened upon Richardson’s Harley Davidson in Launceston - Australia.I would like to express my gratitude to everyone I encounter, what a delight to be met by genuinely friendly and happy staff, to be given the time of day, and to be acknowledged as an important and worth while human being and customer. Thank you !

I bought a T shirt and some bolts and washers from your store, that I could not get from my local dealer, now that’s amazing.

The young girl who served me was friendly, chatty, and helpful and when she was unsure of the exact parts I needed (my poor explanation?) she showed me the PC screen and asked me to point out exactly what I wanted, what a change from my local dealer who guess’s what I want and then tells me that’s what I asked for.

Whilst in the store I noticed a flyer for the demo ride day in Burnie and enquired if I could get a ride on one of the demo bike’s at the demo day only to be asked “do you want to take one now” WOW that’s service, I can tell you I was just floored me.

The next day i turned up at the ride site in my colors and was again met by a smiling young lady who was ever so helpful, i threw my leg over a V-rod and went for a nice escorted ride through the hills – back of the pack to front of pack in neck snapping speed / time – yeehar – I now have the V-rod grin. Had i done this at my local dealer  i would have recieved disapproval and scorn.

If I could get the same level of service from my local Harley dealer I would not buy parts “aftermarket and on-line” I would buy genuine, i would even consider a new bike in the future but not yet.

My local Harley dealer needs a lesson in customer service and, would do well to visit Richardson’s or Cutters.

Well done to the staff at Richardson’s you have restored my faith that not all Harley dealers in Australia are money hungry %$*&%.

I look forward to dealing with the team at Richardson’s Harley Davidson again.

Please feel free to forward this email to CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS Harley-Davidson Customer Service 3700 W. Juneau Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53208 as i am unable to email them direct.

Thanks again, ride safe.

"Good morning Chris.

I picked up the VRod from M & W last Friday. The bike was presented beautifully and all intact. I gave it to my wife on Monday morning as an early surprise birthday present; she was absolutely thrilled with it. She has been out on it every day since while I have been at work.

Chris thanks for all your help with regards to purchasing the bike in Tassie and transporting it to Brisbane, also give my thanks to Simon for making the transfer stress free. May drop in and see you next year on our annual pilgrimage to your beautiful State."

"Gooday All @ RHD,

I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent service you guys provided me during my visit to Tasmania in February/March 2010. It started with a prior phone call to book my 2004 Heritage Softail in for a service on my arrival in Tassie. I had clocked up 6000ks riding from the Pilbara in Western Australia across the Nullarbor, through South Australia and Victoria and across the Tasman via the Spirit to Tassie. It was so hot on the way over that I sweated all the way across, until I rode off the Spirit of Tasmania at around 6.30 in the morning and near on froze riding to Launceston as the bike was booked in that day.

I arrived before your official opening time but nevertheless your staff made me feel welcome with a hot cup of coffee which did more for my cold hands than the caffeine did for my head. It was sure welcomed. All your staff were friendly and helpful. This is not something I'm used to in over here . Your service manager (Mark) knows the Harley Davidson bikes and provided good bike advice, and thanks for helping me arrange my accommodation. To cut the story short, I needed extra work on the bike and parts needed to be sourced, so my bike needed to stay the nite in your shop. Unplanned work if you know what I mean.

Next day I got the call I had hoped for and my bike was shining and ready to go. I was like a kid with a new toy. For the next two weeks I tore around the twisting roads around Tassie. Did I have a ball? You betcha. 4000ks around Tassie and loved every minute of it. After a week of left, right, left right, scrape, scrape. I needed a day off. So I went for a ride. As you can imagine I needed a new tyre and a service before heading home. I had pre booked it in and when I arrived at the shop it seamed there were a lot of people putting pressure on the service department. Nevertheless my bike went in for the work. On close inspection it was found the one of Tassies road stones made a nest in the final drive belt. I wasn't going to risk travelling 6000ks across the Nullarbor with a hole in my belt. More unplanned work. Even with all the pressure on them that day they got started on replacing the final drive belt and next morning my Heritage was ready to go.

I had heard of how good these guys were and I would like to confirm this to anyone visiting Tassie. These guys made my trip a good experience. A big thanks to Mark on the front line and Matt who did the work. Cheers fellers and sorry I didn't buy you a beer.

Next time."

I have been telling everyone that when they go to tassie that they need to drop in and get the Richardson's experience first hand. We will be back to tassie again and back to see you guys as well! I could not believe how friendly the people are and what a beautiful state you folks live in! I am born and bred in sydney and when i think about my tassie trip there is only one thing i don't like about tassie and that is that i don't live there ! As i have said thank you all so much and don't ever change."

"Good afternoon Mark,

My name is John Freeth, you may recall my wife Helen & I from last Thursday after Helen dropped her Street Bob and broke the clutch lever, this posed a real problem given we had to catch the ferry that night for the run back here to Adelaide.

Mark, whilst I expressed my appreciation at the time for the tremendous service we received at such short notice and with no lever in stock you sourced a second-hand one and completed the work in such a short time thus enabling us to maintain the ferry booking, I feel compelled to once again express our gratitude.

Thanks to your cooperation and that of the workshop staff who worked over the luncheon period, we were able to take in the route we had hoped to do that afternoon and missed out on nothing of the schedule run, we made the ferry and then spent the next two days taking the long way to Adelaide via the coast, something that we thought on Thursday morning was not possible.

I am now about to pen a note to Heavy Duty magazine relaying the exceptional service we received, no doubt many others also experienced the same with the many misfortunes that occur on a run such as the HOG national, with such service I am sure the dealership there will continue to flourish and maintain the name for excellent service it already has.

Again Mark many thanks for your professional service."

"To Mark Proietti,

I am sending this letter in hopes that it will show my appreciation and sincere thanks for all that you and your technician Matt did for me, when my Harley broke down in Orford whilst on a road trip with my mates. The boys and l had planned this trip a year in advance and we were all very excited to be arriving in Tasmania via The Spirit of Tasmania on Saturday 31st of October 2009. As Melbourne was having a long weekend courtesy of Melbourne's famous horse race...... Melbourne Cup, we were going to take full advantage and what better way than cruising through Tassie on our bikes and taking in the sites.

We had all made sure our bikes and us  were all in running order, but unfortunately my Harley had a mind of her own and decided that she had had enough riding and refused to travel any further. Not to spoil the feel of our road trip l insisted that our group continue on. l was not sure if l was going to be able to get any help as it was Sunday (1st Nov 2009) and Richardson's was not open for the day. My best mate stayed to keep me company until l finally managed to get a tow truck to take myself and my bike to your place of business, after having been able to contact you. l then told my mate to travel on and that l would meet everyone on Monday (the day of our departure), even though I was still unsure of being able to get the help that I needed.

l was blown away by the helpfulness and courteousness of yourself when l spoke to you via mobile. l couldn't believe that you were going to go out of your way, especially on a non working day, to come and open your yard where my Harley was later delivered via tow truck. l was speechless and found myself not being able to thank you enough for everything that you had done for me. It is a very rare thing indeed, especially now-a-days, to find selfless people such as yourself, who are willing to lend a hand out of the graciousness of their heart to help another person in need.

On the Monday (2nd Nov 2009. End of our trip), yourself and your technician Matt, continued to deliver me exceptional customer service. You both astounded me further by repairing my bike and having me back on the road before 1:30pm and because of this, l was able to ride back to Devonport where l met up with my mates and caught the boat back to Melbourne in plenty of time.

Again words failed me and saying thank you just didn't seem enough for everything that was done. You and your technician are an absolute credit to Richardson,s and because of you both, my road trip through Tassie was made that much better, for l had the pleasure of meeting some of the nicest Tasmanians namely yourself, Matt, your technician and your manager. l realized that there was a strong possibility of having to leave my Harley behind, but because of you all and the help, service and repairs you gave to me and my bike, l was able to take my girl home. l even managed to get in a little more sightseeing on the way back to The Spirit of Tasmania....

Again l am finding myself saying thank you and l still feel that it is not enough........ For how do you express your gratefulness toward the people who push themselves to the limit and help you out and get you back on the road, when you know things could have turned out so differently? The only way l could think of was to type this letter to hopefully express such feelings and to show you all that l truly appreciate and was exceptionally thankful for all you had done for me whilst l was on holidays.

The boys and l are already planning our return trip in 2010, where rest assured l will be stopping by to say hello.

Please accept this letter as my way of saying 'Thank You' and please know that what you all have done for me, will not be forgotten......."

"Gidday Todd, Simon and Mark,

I just want to say thanks again for all the help you gave us in Launceston last week. My wife and I have the light blue and black 08 Ultra and you replaced the back rotor, pads and wheel bearing under warranty for us plus of course the front tyre and pads.

We both really appreciate the extra effort that you all went to, in order to get the parts couriered down to Tassie and work on the bike so that we could have it in time for the Thunder Run. That was exceptional as was the service from Richardson’s – can’t speak highly enough of you guys. The best dealership that I’ve come across.

Thanks again – see ya on the road!"

"Whilst I was on holidays in Tasmania, a problem arose with my Roadking.

Your staff attended to the problem quickly, and recommended that the repairs should be done correctly and with minimal delay.

The motorcycle is now running correctly thanks to your advice and help."

"I am writing to say a big Thank You for the support from helpful staff plus welcoming girls to ride the demos last Saturday and Sunday in Hobart.

WOW, what a blast and an opportunity to trial so many different styles of bikes, especially my favourite - the Buell."
