It’s great to see that there are a lot more women getting onto motorcycles these days, and its not just in the USA, here is Australia female riders/licence holders account for around 12% of the total riders, which has grown in recent years. It’s not surprising though since women make up 80% consumer purchases!

Not only has the amount of female riders grown but there is now a lot more available in the ranges of merchandise and parts to accommodate female riders. Here at Richardson’s Harley-Davidson we want to support and encourage female riders.

Karen Davidson’s Top Tips for Female Riders

Tips for learning to ride from Karen Davidson, the great granddaughter of the Harley-Davidson founder William A. Davidson - Harley-Davidson.com

1. Start learning to ride using a small motorbike.
2. Ask your dealer what motorbike is right for you.
3. Spend time learning about the mechanics of your motorbike.
4. Make sure you wear the proper safety gear whenever you’re riding.
5. Practice riding your motorbike early in the morning and on weekends when there’s less traffic.

Demo Rides

Want to demo ride a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle? Here's what you need;

For the demo ride, you'll need a current motorcycle licence, the riding portion we can provide you with a helmet, jacket ond gloves. You'll have to bring:

• A heavy, long-sleeve shirt or jacket
• Jeans, chaps, or leather pants
• Over-the-ankle, sturdy footwear
• We do adivse that you wear full-fingered gloves (we can provide these)
• If you do bring you own helmet make sure that meets Australian Standards
